Two prototype bionic beings, built to love, and to feel.
Their memories live in a pair of matching silver earrings.
Her chip expires at 12:45.
He is sent to retrieve her.
But if love was programmed, what is left to choose?
Shaped by a distinctive architectural and geometric aesthetic, the film unfolds through stylised camerawork in high-contrast black and white. In the hush of silent cinema, a heartbeat speaks where words do not.

The Woman Who Became A Silkworm
Poetic Realism|2025|8min
An essay film on life as a perpetual outsider in contemporary Australia,
where the city both connects and isolates.
In a forest in suburban Melbourne, Ann, a Chinese girl, meets Meilan, a Chinese woman.
Two outsiders in a foreign land, they find in each other a heightened empathy. As Ann is drawn
into a tale where reincarnation and the surreal intertwine, an old folktale may begin to repeat itself.
Trees and natural landscapes are set in sharp contrast against the cityscape. Loneliness falls like a ripple across a reflection in water, without a sound. A supernatural fable opens another layer of the story, as the film finds poetry in everyday life and surreal threads running between conversations.
